The term 'print' covers a wide variety of reproduction methods, not only photo-litho
prints, but monotype etchings, giclee and serigraph processes, to name but a few. Most of
the artists featured use the traditional Litho means of reproduction but some ie Rob
Gordon, Iain Carby, Scott Naismith and Duncan MacMillan exclusively use the Giclee method of reproducing their work.
Giclee printing allows heavy grade watercolour paper or even artist canvas to be used in
the reproduction process, and provides a depth of colour and vibrancy which has never been
achieved with traditional methods of printing.
Others such as Gillian McDonald use a combination of both.
