Bothwell Bridge
Bothwell Bridge, across the Clyde, is of great antiquity, though the age is
not precisely known;
it originally consisted of four arches, each spanning forty-five feet,
and measuring fifteen feet in breadth, but it has been considerably enlarged
in recent
years to accommodate an additional width of road.
